Experience
Ever since I was in middle school, I've been working helping students improve their academic skills in some capacity or another. More recently, I worked as a volunteer at a local elementary school, where I helped young students study Spanish, reading comprehension, and mathematics. In my opinion, there's no greater reward than watching someone succeed thanks to your help and assistance. For this reason, I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the chance to share some of my own experiences with students in hopes of helping them prepare for life outside of the classroom. Overall, I've had experience teaching a number of subjects from elementary all the way to the high school level, but my favorite subject to tutor is Spanish. As someone who benefitted from bilingual education studied in a Spanish immersion program, I know just how beneficial learning a second language can be, which is why I'm a strong supporter for foreign languages being taught in the school system. At the moment, I'm enrolled in Clark University and am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Spanish. When I'm not teaching and improving my own Spanish skills, I like to spend my time swimming, debating, and practicing public speaking. I also enjoy playing the drums.
